Hey lovelies! How is everyone’s holiday preparation coming along? For some reason, I’ve been on the ball this year and I already have all my presents wrapped. This is definitely a first for me! You know how sometimes you get everything done so efficiently that you start to get suspicious that you’re forgetting something major? That’s how I feel right now. Eek!

Anyway, I’ve been styling a bunch of looks for y’all to get you pumped up for the holidays that will be up on the blog in the next week. Now, I’m not normally one to get all dolled up – I prefer to keep elements of cool casualness in most of my outfits because that’s how I roll. I know a lot of you love to go all out with the fancy factor, though, so I thought I’d show you an easy way to style a sparkly dress two ways.

The first look I did was a more traditional take on the sparkly dress. First of all, I love the color of this particular dress. It’s a little different from the traditional reds, burgundies and wines typical of this season, but it’s still very appropriate the holidays – and beyond. I styled it with black pantyhose, sparkly black heels and a simple black coat. I love how the dress pops against all the classic black pieces! I didn’t feel the need to add too much in terms of jewelry because I think that glittery things speak for themselves – they’re basically an accessory and a clothing item rolled into one! I did a simple bracelet stack in black and gold and a pair of black and gold earrings. I decided to carry the glitter factor down to my feet as well as with my clutch so that I’d have pops of sparkle all throughout my outfit.

Now, if you want a little more edge to your outfit, then the second look I styled will be more up your alley. I swapped out the long coat for my favorite faux leather jacket and I switched the heels for my favorite black ankle boots. I kept the accessories the same because they still work with this look and it’s still the same color palette. The different jacket and shoes definitely give this outfit a much different vibe!

Both looks work so well in their own ways. I love items like this dress because they’re so versatile and they’re great closet staples that can be worn over and over in so many different ways. Oh, did I mention that this dress is only $12.99CAD at H&M?? That’s what I’m talkin’ about!
