Sweater (no longer available online / American Eagle) | Jeans (similar) | Boots | Scarf

Guess what? It’s Wednesday again and you know what that means – we’re that much closer to the weekend 😀 This week has been SO busy already that I’m really looking forward to relaxing again. Wait…Aaron and I are hosting a big dinner party on Saturday, so I guess we won’t be relaxing that much. Wahn waaaaaaaahn.

So, I got this sweater a few weeks ago at American Eagle and apparently it has vanished from the website in the meantime. If you’re interested in one, I recommend checking in-store because I’ve still seen them there very recently. Because of the taupe-y colored stripes in this cardigan, I chose to style it with these uber-light pink jeans. I find this brings out the pinkish hue in those stripes and I love pink! I played around with different t-shirt colors to wear underneath, but black worked best for this outfit. Grey or white can work, too, depending on what you wear on the bottom. That’s what I love about multi-colored cardigans – you can just use the colors as your inspiration and build an easy outfit from there.

I was going to wear my black OTK boots with this originally, but I chose the ankle boots because a) I didn’t want to cover up all the fun rips in my jeans and b) with the black tee and the predominant black in my sweater, I didn’t want to overwhelm this outfit with black. Grey boots (OTK, knee-high or ankle) would also look awesome with this.

I struggled a bit with choosing a scarf. Initially, I was going to go with a light pink one, but it was just a little bit of a different shade than my pants and it ended up looking lame. I chose this tan one because it’s neutral and also works with the taupe-y stripes in my cardigan. Now looking at the pictures, I think a white one would’ve looked even better if I’m being completely honest. Either option works, though 🙂
