Hey all! So, I realize that this post is a pretty stark contrast from my previous one. I admit that as soon as the holidays are over and the temps go above 0°, I get outrageously excited. Even though I know deep down that winter is just getting into full swing, I start rifling through my shorts and sundresses. It doesn’t help that this year, I’ll be spending February in Florida, so that’s just adding to my premature summer dreaming. I’m a true beach girl at heart, but since I live in Canada, the weather doesn’t allow for flip flops in January. I don’t want to let the weather full dictate what I wear, though, so I find ways to wear my summery pieces all year long. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall layers, but once Christmas has come and gone, I’m pretty much over the cold weather.
You know what else I’m super in love with lately? Braids. They are a lifesaver, especially when you’re on your second (or third or fourth) day without washing your hair. I did this mini french braid behind my ear and, in a surprising (not really) twist of events, I wrapped a little chunk of hair around it to give it ~pizazz~. I’m not the best at braids, so I was pretty excited about it. Don’t judge me.
Anyway, back to my outfit. This tank top is one of my absolute faves! As soon as I spotted it in the store this past summer, I could hardly believe it. Pineapple + skull + paradise = all the things I would put on a shirt if I designed it myself! It’s been far too long since the last time I wore it, so, since I was already feeling beachy, I built my outfit around it. These flared jeans and sweater paired perfectly to continue the easygoing, summery vibe. Since it was too cold for sandals, these comfy, colorful shoes were a good alternative.
Don’t be surprised if you see a lot more of my summer side pop out now. You’re all sick of seeing red, burgundy and khaki by now, right?? 😛
