Sweater Dress (TJ Maxx) | Leggings (similar) | Boots | Parka | Scarf
Brrrr. Is it just me or did someone turn off the heat outside?? I guess I was getting a little spoiled with the unseasonably warm temperatures lately, that I fully expected winter to be cancelled this year. Alas, the cold weather has arrived and I’ve been forced to bust out my winter coats.
Sweater dresses and oversized sweaters are majorly having a moment this season and I’m not mad about it. Who can argue with a cozy dress layered on top of comfy leggings? Who says you can’t look good AND be comfortable? I picked up this waffle-knit dress at TJ Maxx on MAJOR clearance ($13!!) and have never looked back. I first attracted to this dress because of the color, but I fell in love when I saw the adorable lace details on the sleeves. I love this color because it’s bright, but completely fall/winter appropriate.
The other fantastic trend I’m loving this season is the over-the-knee boots! They round out the sweater/legging combo so well and they’re so warm. I got mine at Forever 21 for under $50! The biggest thing I always fear with faux-suede is whether it’ll look cheap, but these totally don’t. I also have a similar black pair from Forever 21 and both of them look great in real life and are super comfy. I love how the grey looks with my dress because it softens up the look a lot, especially since I was wearing a black jacket.
Speaking of the jacket…I LOVE this one! I got 2 years ago at Aritzia and it still looks virtually the same as it did the day I bought it. It’s very warm, looks great with almost anything and it wears very, very well. Last year, I decided to get the same jacket in the short version because I loved this one THAT much. I highly recommend this jacket!
Of course, no fall or winter outfit is complete without a big scarf. I’ve been wearing this one on repeat because it’s soooo soft and it works so well with a lot of the colors in my wardrobe this season. I really can’t resist buying something when it’s soft (just ask my sister…or husband…)
